How To Block Specific Websites On A Belkin Router?

Steps of blocking specific URL or unwanted website:

Blocking process is totally depends upon the model of your router. If your router has parental-control feature than you can control such activity. Otherwise, you have to call for the help from BelkinCustomer Service.

STEP: 1

Some Belkin routers have website filter feature which is helpful to block any unwanted website. Check out first whether your router has that specific feature or not. After that, follow further steps.

STEP: 2

Type 192.168.2.1 in the address bar of your web browser and then press “ENTER”. With this, login screen will appear, click on login button and enter password in the “PASSWORD” box. You have to setup a custom password otherwise that field will leave blank by default. After doing this, SUBMIT and login. In left side, click on the option of WEBSITE FILTERS that is comes under PARENTAL CONTROLS. After reaching at this option, you will see 4 options for filter. These options are Block malicious and adult sites, Block malicious sites, Block Malicious, Adult and other non-family friendly sites and No Filters. Choose any option from these 4 as per your preferences.

STEP: 3

After selecting your filter, click on APPLY CHANGES and save your settings. That desired filter will be enabling after this. To make this setting effective, you have to follow one more step. Exit the interface of the router. And then, clear all history, cache and cookies files from the system.

STEP: 4

If you have old version, then look for the PARENTAL CONTROL feature and click on the left side. Enter your credentials to login. If your service is subscriptions-based then contact Belkin router support for better assistance.

STEP: 5

After successful login click on the button of “MODIFY”. Now, enter the website’s URL that you are willing to block or you can also enter the keyword that should be blocked in the particular field and then choose ALWAYS BLOCKED button. You can also add more than one website URL by using comma. When it’s done, press APPLY CHANGES to make it successful.

With these settings, your network will not get any notification or content from the blocked URL. If you are in stress, you can follow these simple steps to block unwanted URL’s.
